Restrictions lifted at Nova Scotia hospital after illness symptoms subside

GUYSBOROUGH, N.S. - A Nova Scotia hospital is open to the public again after a gastrointestinal illness prompted visitor restrictions.

The restrictions were put in place at the Guysborough Memorial Hospital Saturday night after the illness was detected in some patients and staff.

Officials with the Guysborough Antigonish Strait Health Authority say there has been a significant reduction in symptoms since Saturday.

They say the hospital has returned to normal operations.
