Toddler drowns in Kirkland pool

A 16-month-old girl is dead in an apparent drowning in a pool in Kirkland.

Montreal police released few details, but said the coroner's office is investigating.

The girl went into cardiac arrest, according to Urgences-Santé. Paramedics attempted to revive her but were unsuccessful.

At this point, the death appears accidental, police said.

The incident happened on Labrador Street.

This is the 40th drowning in Quebec this year.
