Blue Jays' place Jose Bautista on DL with wrist inflammation

The Toronto Blue Jays have placed outfielder Jose Bautista on the 15-day disabled list with left wrist inflammation.

The all-star slugger was injured on a swing in the eighth inning in New York on Monday night against the Yankees.

Bautista was Major League Baseball's player of the month for June after hitting .271 with 30 RBIs, 24 runs scored and a franchise record-setting 14 home runs in the month. He's currently tied for second in the American League in homers with 27.

Toronto has selected the contract of outfielder Anthony Gose from Las Vegas of the Pacific Coast League (AAA).

The roster moves were first reported by the Blue Jays' Twitter account.
