What To Wear While Taking A Staycation

Not Actually Taking A Vacation? Doesn't Mean You Can't Look Chic
TheKit.ca

Hellooooo summer! My favourite season is full of cottages and campfires, beach vacations and weekend jaunts. But what if you have nowhere to go? No picturesque lakeside cabin or quaint seaside beach house? Fear not. With a little creativity, imagination and a few key leisure items, you can have your own staycation in the city with none of the headaches or traffic.

First, find your perfect backdrop. It can be a favourite park, beach, or even your own balcony or backyard. Close your eyes and if the sunshine and breeze immediately transport you to a more exotic locale, you’ve found the perfect spot.

Now choose your staycation ensemble. Loose, printed shorts will keep you looking and feeling cool, especially when paired with a breezy burnout tank and a straw fedora. Finish off with a pair of sleek, but simple sandals and you’re ready to relax. This is a look that would be perfect for exploring the markets in Turkey, or trying fresh crab in Maine, so feel free to make up your own backstory.

Finally, pack a bag with some staycation essentials; a good book (Let’s Pretend This Never Happened is a hilarious read that’s currently topping my list), sunscreen (Neutrogena is a classic that works), lipbalm (nothing says summer like the smell of a little pot of Blistex) and a great tote to carry it all. You’re all set.

Relax, sip some sangria and pity your friends stuck in gridlock on their way up north. With this easy DIY vacay, you may never want to leave the city again. Shorts and sandals available on eluxe.ca Tank available on aritzia.com Hat available on clubmonaco.com Bag available on bananarepublic.ca
