Gymnast Yordan Yovchev to be Bulgaria's flag bearer at opening ceremony for London Olympics

SOFIA, Bulgaria - The Bulgarian Olympic committee says gymnast Yordan Yovchev will be the country's flag bearer for the opening ceremony of the London Games.

Yovchev will be participating in his sixth Olympics and is trying to win his fifth medal. Yovchev won two bronze medals at the 2000 Sydney Games in the floor and rings events, and then grabbed a bronze and silver in Athens in 2004 in the same disciplines.

The 39-year-old Yovchev is the only gymnast to take part in six Olympics, and will be the only Bulgarian competing in the sport in London.
