South Korea sailing coach sent home from Olympics after drunk driving arrest

WEYMOUTH, England - The South Korea Sailing Federation says coach Lee Jae-cheol has been sent home from the Olympics after being stopped by police for drunk driving after attending a banquet hosted by the mayor of Weymouth.

The federation says Lee was returning alone to the athletes village at 5 a.m. Thursday after sleeping at the federation's headquarters in an attempt to sober up.

The federation has apologized on Lee's behalf. Kim Joon-nyun, secretary general of the sailing federation, says Lee had been fined 250 British pounds and was "on the way home."

South Korea is represented by four sailors in three classes.
