LONDON - Spain eased past Kazakhstan 14-6 behind five goals from Felipe Perrone Rocha in the teams' opening game of the men's water polo competition at the London Olympics.

Spain never trailed in the Group A match, scoring four unanswered goals in the first half to jump to a 9-3 lead at the break and cruised from there.

With the win, Spain joins Croatia, which beat Greece earlier Sunday, atop Group A.

Later Sunday, Australia plays 2011 world champion Italy in the group's third match.
