Soldier Charged In Shooting At CFB Shilo

A soldier faces two counts of attempted murder after an altercation at Canadian Forces Base Shilo, Man., on the weekend.

The military said in a news release Monday that Master Cpl. Clarence Stillman has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, four counts of careless use of a firearm, four counts of pointing a firearm, and one count of possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Following the incident early Sunday, a soldier at the base in southwest Manitoba was treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

The military gave no further details on the incident.

Canadian Forces Base Shilo is located in southwestern Manitoba, near Brandon, and is home to the 2nd Batallion Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry and 1st Regiment, Royal Canadian Horse Artillery.
