Reining time trial champion Fabian Cancellara recovers in time to defend Olympic title

LONDON - A Swiss team coach says Olympic time trial champion Fabian Cancellara will defend his title in London after recovering from a nasty crash in the road race.

Luca Guercilena said Tuesday that Cancellara is still being treated for the right shoulder injury he picked up when he hit the ground, but should be "100 per cent" for Wednesday's 44-kilometre race.

The four-time world champion was in the lead group Saturday when he misjudged a late turn and crashed into a barrier, falling on the same shoulder he broke earlier this year at the Tour of Flanders.

Cancellara trained on the time-trial course, and Guercilena said the pain in his shoulder is almost gone.
