Hungary edges Russia 11-10 to reach semifinals of women's Olympic water polo

LONDON - Dora Antal scored on a rebound with just over a minute to play and goalkeeper Flora Bolonyai made a save at the buzzer as Hungary edged Russia 11-10 to reach the semifinals of women's Olympic water polo.

Antal pounced on a loose ball in front of goal after a Rita Keszthelyi shot rattled the post and flipped the ball past goalkeeper Anna Karnaukh to give Hungary a two-goal lead.

Olga Beliaeva converted a penalty with 56 seconds left to pull Russia back within a goal.

Beliaeva got one final chance to level the game at the buzzer, but Bolonyai blocked the Russian's shot as time expired to preserve the victory.

The win puts Hungary into Tuesday's semifinals, where it will play either Spain or Britain.
