The BCGEU issued a notice to the Labour Relations Board Saturday.
The strike will affect about 450 workers in jobs with the Ministry of Forests in Prince George, Cranbrook, Nelson, Dawson Creek, and Burns Lake.
This is the third BCGEU job action this summer as the union tries to reach a new collective agreement with the government.
Last month, BCGEU members picketed three Liquor Distribution Branch sites in Vancouver, Victoria and Kamloops.
Earlier this month, the union took strike action at several ministry offices in Surrey, Kelowna, Campbell River and 100 Mile House.
The BCGEU's 25,000 members have been without a contract since March but talks with the provincial government to negotiate a new collective agreement stalled after the union rejected the two-year pay increase on offer.
The union says the government's offer of a 3.5 per cent pay raise over two years is not enough. Instead, the union is seeking a 3.5 per cent wage increase in the first year and a cost of living increase in the second.
