Diesel And OneXOne Host 'Walk The One Way' A Celeb-Filled Fashion Show

Celebs Don Diesel's Denim To Raise Money For OneXOne

Denim is "in" for fall. Especially when it's worn for a good cause.

Last week, Diesel hosted a star-studded fête to raise money for ONEXONE, an organization which seeks to improve the well-being of children in impoverished parts of the world.

Strutting the runway -- in the jean company's fall collection -- were famous faces, including celebrity chef David Rocco, singer Jully Black and Model Stacey McKenzie. Familiar faces also dotted the crowd at the event, including Ed and Suzanne Rogers and the Dixon brothers.

The pairing between Diesel and ONEXONE is a logical one: Joey Adler, the CEO and President of Diesel Canada, began the charity after her husband was stricken with an illness in 2001. From the experience, and his subsequent passing in January 2003, she began to question the way we (all facets of society) value human life (economically instead of sociologically).

It was that experience which compelled Adler to pursue a second career in philanthropy with the purpose of helping individuals, "one by one." The name of the company also references the many ways a citizen -- as one person -- can change their community.

"Save a life and save the world," Adler tells The Huffington Post Canada. "That saying has incredible meaning to me now."

Today, Diesel and ONEXONE team up for several fundraising events throughout the year, including the always popular ONEXONE gala during the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF 2012). And many an A-lister -- including Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, Wyclef Jean and Bono (among others) -- now actively support the charity's cause.

"As a brand, we [at Diesel] would spend all of this money on marketing initiatives, and I realized we could do a lot by leveraging our brand for good," says Adler. "We have a great organization, and a lot of support, but we're so ambitious with our international programs -- nobody can believe we're doing [what we are]."

She says she never stops focusing on all of the work that needs to get done -- nor does she want to. "We believe in always putting the cause first."
