Two polling stations were closed in the surrounding area after construction crews working in the Plateau caused a gas leak.
The polling station at 5050 Berri Street re-opened a short while later without incident.
Another station, in a church at the corner of Rivard Street and Laurier Avenue, re-opened without power and voters used flashlights to see for about an hour, until the electricity was restored.
The gas leak also caused several streets in the area to be closed, resulting in traffic around the Laurier metro station.
A short while later, the power went out at a Notre-Dame-de-Grâce polling station, at the corner of Decarie Boulevard and Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Avenue.
Power was restored after about an hour and voters were able to continue casting their ballots throughout the outage.
