2 more throw hat in ring to become leader of the Saskatchewan NDP

REGINA - The Saskatchewan New Democratic Party has two more candidates in the race for a new leader.

Regina Rosemont M-L-A Trent Wotherspoon, who has served since 2007, launched his campaign Friday.

He says the biggest challenge he faces will be to build relationships.

As the acting finance critic for the NDP, Wotherspoon has some heavy support from his party — Warren McCaul, Harry Van Mulligan, Kim Trew and Judy Junor.

Saskatoon physician Ryan Meili, who also threw his hat in the ring Friday, Cam Broten, a Saskatoon M-L-A, and Erin Weir, an economist, are also vying for the leadership.

The NDP plans to hold 14 debates across the province before ballots are cast on March 9.
