Richardson fills coaching vacancy left by Lueders on Canada's bobsleigh team

CALGARY - Former British bobsled pilot Graham Richardson has joined the coaching staff of the Canadian team.

Richardson will work with head coach Tom De La Hunty as a pilot coach, according to a release posted Tuesday on the FIBT's website.

He replaces Pierre Lueders, an Olympic gold and silver medallist for Canada, who was hired as Russia's national team coach in June.

After retiring from the sport in 1998, Richardson served as a coach for the FIBT's bobsleigh schools and also coached the Dutch team.
