Man dies after being struck by taxi in Toronto parking lot

Toronto police say a man has died after being struck by a taxicab in the parking lot of Dufferin Mall.

Const. Hugh Smith told CBC News that police were called to the scene at 2:40 p.m. ET.

Smith said that a taxi hit multiple cars in a section of the parking lot between the No Frills and Wal-Mart stores.

At some point, the cab reversed over a curb and struck a pedestrian, who was pinned to a brick wall.

The victim died while being transported to hospital.

Police have not released the victim's name but say it was a 67-year-old male.

The crash remains under investigation.
