President of Hockey Calgary resigns over insults he posted on blog

CALGARY - The president of Hockey Calgary has resigned after getting into hot water for insults levelled on his personal blog.

Todd Millar used the word "moron" 14 times in one blog to describe those who favour bodychecking in peewee hockey.

Millar says there was a lot of backlash for the entry written in April, before a vote that shot down banning bodychecking in the sport for ages 11 and 12.

He says he never intended for the blog to be seen publicly and always thought only two people followed it — his sister and a friend.

But he says somebody found the blog and circulated it to parents and others in Hockey Canada.

Millar had been a volunteer in the organization for the last seven years.
