TRURO, N.S. - Nova Scotia's premier was in Truro today to tour the flood-damaged areas of the town and meet with municipal leaders about long-term solutions.
The province is repairing a damaged berm that flood waters breached in four spots during flooding earlier this month.
However, Darrell Dexter says a wider plan is needed for the area to reduce future flooding damage every time there are heavy rains.
He says that the province needs to consider what dikes and other infrastructure are needed to protect the town.
The premier says that the mayors and province have set up a working group to address flooding and "the impact of global warming" in the Truro area.
