A Vancouver man has been handed a suspended sentence and three years of probation after pleading guilty to one count of bestiality.
Brian Cutteridge, 38, entered a guilty plea in B.C. Supreme Court in Vancouver on Tuesday after being investigated for having sex with his two dogs, the Province reported.
The charge stemmed from incidents between 1998 and 2005, when he was suspected of having sex with a Rottweiler and a Golden Retriever. Cutteridge initially denied committing bestiality but the investigation found a video that showed him committing the acts.
Cutteridge made a brief court appearance wearing a black suit on Tuesday. His three-year probation came at the request of both Crown and defence lawyers, Metro Vancouver reported.
Cutteridge is not allowed to own any female dogs for the next three years, News1130 reported. He owned three at the time of his arrest in 2010.
The terms of his Cutteridge's sentence also state that he must provide a list of any animals he owns to the SPCA within a week, and he must allow inspections by the SPCA no more than once a month.
The judge also imposed a request for a DNA sample, a recommendation that wasn't requested by the Crown.
