How many people do you know can transform a piece of paper into a Pegasus?
Vendors and international paper-folding all-stars gathered in Vancouver this weekend to kick off Canada's first International Origami Convention.
One fan traveled from the U.S. to share his passion for the traditional Japanese paper-folding art.
“It’s just calming, meditative,” said Brian Webb, a visiting Indianapolis IT-guy to The Globe and Mail. “It teaches me patience, and there’s a lot more going on than just creating a lot of toys.”
Organized by Origami Canada, artists were brought together at Vancouver's Century Plaza Hotel to showcase their folding talents.
Designs ranged from traditional flowers to complex mythical creatures.
