OTTAWA - A deputy governor of the Bank of Canada is moving to the federal Finance Department to become an associate deputy minister, the central bank said Monday.
Jean Boivin will assume the job at Finance effective Oct. 25.
He was named deputy governor in March 2010 after first serving as a special adviser to the governor.
Before joining the Bank of Canada, Boivin was a professor at HEC Montreal and a member of the monetary policy council at the C.D. Howe Institute.
