Just as quickly (if not quicker) as the U.S. Geological Survey reported that an earthquake had struck B.C.'s coastal Haida Gwaii Saturday night, the tweets were flying.
Some initially thought the earthquake had hit in the Vancouver area, but reports from the area where the quake had actually hit were soon circulated. Word of the tsunami warning issued for the BC coast and extending up to Alaska also spread quickly.
