As Canadians brace for Hurricane Sandy's arrival, the Canadian Red Cross has encouraged people to follow emergency preparation advice to stay safe.
Denis Dion, the organization's national director of disaster management, advised Canadians who might be affected by the storm to store enough supplies for 72 hours.

"By taking some time now to store emergency food, water and other supplies, you can provide for your entire family during a power outage or evacuation," he said in a news release.
