Two men shot in separate incidents in Toronto

Toronto police are looking for two suspects after a 19-year-old man was shot twice on Sunday afternoon.

The shooting occurred at 500 Dawes Rd., near Victoria Park Avenue and St. Clair Avenue East. Police and paramedics were called to the scene at 2:15 p.m.

A Toronto EMS spokesperson told CBC News that the victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Hours earlier, police were probing a separate shooting that left a man with life-threatening injuries.

The shooting happened on College Street, east of Bathurst Street, in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police say the gunman was riding a bicycle.

According to preliminary statistics posted on the Toronto police website, there have been more than 200 shooting occurrences in the city since the start of the year.
