Human Remains Found In Car Fire

UPDATE - Nov. 22, 2012: Vancouver police have determined that Matthew Johnathon Hall, 23, of Richmond was the victim of a homicide. His body was found in a car fire that police say was deliberately set.

Vancouver fire crews putting out a car fire found what was believed to be human remains inside.

Crews who responded to the fire in the 1500 block of Carolina Street on Saturday evening made the discovery.

"The fire is being treated as suspicious," said Vancouver police in a news release on Sunday.

Investigators from the Forensic Identification Unit and the VPD Major Crime Section were working the scene through the night. Police said they would release more details as they became available.
