EDMONTON - Southern Albertans are being told to brace for freezing rain and heavy snow.
Environment Canada says a low pressure system will move in from Montana bringing freezing rain to areas south of the Trans Canada Highway.
That rain is expected to turn into snow later in the day as far north as Red Deer, with expected accumulations of up to 20 centimetres.

In Saskatchewan there are weather warnings for freezing rain in the Regina area as well as east and west of the capital.
There is also a heavy snowfall warning for parts of northwestern Manitoba, including the Swan River and Grand Rapids areas.
Spotty freezing rain is also possible in areas around and south of the Trans Canada Highway in Manitoba.
