Toronto man arrested in Niagara Region, charged in shooting

A Toronto man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder, following a shooting in the city on Remembrance Day.

On November 11, Toronto police responded to a reported shooting at 500 Dawes Rd., near Victoria Park Avenue and St. Clair Avenue East.

A 19-year-old man was found suffering from gunshot wounds to the abdomen. He was rushed to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

On Tuesday, a 20-year-old Toronto man was arrested in the Niagara Region.

The accused faces nine charges including attempted murder, aggravated assault and a number of firearm-related criminal counts. He is due to appear in court on Wednesday.
