Attempted murder charges laid in Vancouver shootings

Attempted murder charges have now been laid in connection to the Oct. 21 shooting that sent two men to hospital and had Commercial Drive residents waking up to the sound of gunfire.

Steven Thoung Sitthikoun, 27, of Surrey, has been charged with two counts of attempted murder with a firearm.

Officers arrived at the scene to find one man on the street, suffering gunshot wounds, and found a second wounded man in an apartment building lobby in the same block.

Police at the time said the shootings appeared to have been targeted and the gunman had fled the scene.

Sitthikoun remains in custody until his next appearance in B.C. Provincial Court on Dec. 5.
