Government officials say the charges stem from an investigation into the oilsands exploration projects near Fort McMurray between December 2010 and March 2011.
Ulliac Oilfield Consulting Ltd., and its owner Jason Ulliac, face 10 counts under the province's Water Act.
It's alleged Ulliac provided false information about the volume of water diverted from five different water sources.
Ulliac and the company, along with Grizzly Oil Sands ULC and Grizzly Oil Sands Inc., have been charged with another 20 counts for allegedly taking more water than permitted from nine different water bodies.
A first court appearance in Fort McMurray has been set for Jan. 16.
