Man wanted after driving stolen car into 3 pedestrians

Toronto police are searching for a 47-year-old man who ran down at least three pedestrians Friday in a stolen car.

Steven Paul Brunswick allegedly stole a Mercedes-Benz on Dec.1 from a residential area, police said.

On Friday, Dec. 7, the suspect was spotted in the stolen vehicle by police at Laird Drive and Eglinton Avenue East at around 1:30 p.m. He was later seen at Yonge Street and Broadway Avenue.

When an officer attempted to stop the suspect, police said he attempted to start driving at the officer.

As he attempted to flee, the suspect drove onto the sidewalk and hit three pedestrians.

A 55-year-old woman was sent to hospital but has since been released.

The man fled the scene. Police found the vehicle abandoned a few blocks away.

When police catch the driver he will face several charges, including attempted murder.
