Richmond Ikea Shooting, Shots Reportedly Fired In Parking Lot

UPDATE: Dec. 13, 2012 - RCMP have determined the shooting was targeted and not gang related, according to a news release. The targeted individual is known to police.

Police were called to a Richmond Ikea store after shots were reportedly fired in the parking lot on Tuesday.

The suspects fled before police arrived on scene. "Miraculously no one was injured," according to a RCMP news release.

"We don't know if it's one suspect or two suspects," said Cpl. Sherrdean Turley of Richmond RCMP.

Police sealed off a portion of the parking lot and combed the area for evidence.

"We'll be on scene for quite some time," Turley said to The Huffington Post B.C.

Richmond RCMP received calls about suspected gunfire at around 4:30 p.m.

No injuries or property damage have been reported. A motive is not yet known.
