UPDATE: Dec. 13, 2012 - RCMP have called off search efforts to locate Courtney Buck. She is now presumed drowned and considered missing.KAMLOOPS, B.C. - A search has been expanded for the body of a teacher killed in a car crash along with her husband north of Kamloops, B.C., on the weekend.
Courtney Buck, who was seven months pregnant, died with her husband Skye when their vehicle skidded off Highway 5 and plunged into the North Thompson River on Sunday.
Skye's body was found when the car was pulled from the river, but RCMP Const. Lesley Smith says the river is running fast and Courtney's body may have been washed quite a way from the crash site.
Smith says a Mountie dive team is using sonar equipment on Wednesday in areas too dangerous to enter, while fisheries department boats and a police helicopter are also helping in the search.
Skye and Courtney Buck were both teachers in the small town of Clearwater and a fellow teacher has set up a fund to honour them.
Elizabeth Devries says donations to the Skye and Courtney Buck Memorial Award can be made through the Thompson Rivers University Foundation, and a decision on how the money will be used will made later. (CHNL,CFJC)
