EDMONTON - The Canada Border Services Agency has laid charges against two people it says tried to smuggle prohibited weapons into Alberta.
The agency alleged a man and a woman bought illegal firearm parts and weapons in the United States and attempted to have them shipped to their home address in Canada.
The parcel was intercepted at the Vancouver International Mail Centre on Aug. 16.
It contained pepper spray, one stun gun, over-capacity rifle magazines and pistol magazines.
Todd Dean Mansfield is to appear in Lloydminster, Alta., provincial court on Jan. 15 to face four charges under the Customs Act.
Rebecca Dawn Cheley, who faces a single charge, is also to appear on that day.
