Police say alleged abduction in Grande Prairie, Alta., was misunderstanding

GRANDE PRAIRIE, Alta. - RCMP in the northwestern Alberta city of Grande Prairie say what appeared to be an abduction on the weekend was simply a misunderstanding.

The Mounties say a woman contacted them Sunday to say she believed she was the alleged victim.

Officers interviewed her and other people involved and concluded there was no abduction.

No charges will be laid.

Police had received a complaint early Saturday morning that a woman was screaming for help and was being forced into a truck.
