Porter Escapes: Toronto-Island Airport Debuts New Website

Porter Now Offering More Than Just Flights

On the same day Air Canada unveiled its low-cost carrier, Rouge, Porter Airlines announced that it will be offering travellers package vacations through a new website, Porter Escapes.

The website will feature hotel and flight packages based on the 19 destinations to which Porter currently flies, with some packages including additional activities like a New York CityPASS, allowing travellers to access landmark attractions like the Empire State Building or the Statue of Liberty. Porter's New York packages also include concierge service for dinner reservations or booking theatre tickets.

According to Robert Deluce, president and CEO of Porter Escapes, the website is meant to streamline travel planning for customers looking for a short getaway instead of a two-week vacation. Those looking for something longer than six days are asked to contact Porter directly.

The Toronto-based airline isn't the only company bundling flights with hotels. Earlier in December, Transat announced the company will be offering vacation packages to Haiti — a first in Canada. The move is part of an effort the company is working on alongside the Haitian government to rebuild its image since the 2010 earthquake that rocked the Caribbean country.
