The forecast this summer: Hot, with lots of royal-baby fever.

Following months of speculation on Kate Middleton's due date, palace officials announced Monday that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be expecting their little bundle of royal joy in July.

"Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to confirm they are expecting a baby in July," the brief statement issued on DukeandDuchessOfCambridge.org said.

The Palace also said that Kate's health "continues to improve since her stay in hospital last month." The 31-year-old Duchess made major headlines in December after being hospitalized for severe morning sickness, which prompted the announcement she was expecting a baby.

Since then, Royal watchers have been abuzz with predictions about whether the royal baby would be a boy, girl, or even twins. The Palace has thus far stayed mum on the baby's sex, and this most recent statement seems to confirm there's just a single future prince or princess on the way.

Either way, we can't wait to see what he or she is going to wear.
