A man has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with a killing that took place on Wednesday in Montreal's Saint-Michel neighbourhood.

Van Son Nguyen, 48, appeared in court via video conference on Saturday.

He is accused of attacking a man in his 40s with a machete in an apartment at the corner of Pie IX Boulevard and 51st Street.
