What do you picture when you think of winter in Canada?
For some people, it's snow-draped landscapes, frozen lakes, wind-blown forests and white mountains. For others, winter means outdoor activities, from ski hills, ice fishing huts and snowmobile trails to the many winter festivals across Canada.
There's the weather, of course: This winter Montreal experienced record snowfall, and a blizzard blasted St. John's causing power outages. Other cities saw months of mild temperatures; southern Ontarians are just now revving up their snowblowers.
But perhaps you picture something different: a cup of hot chocolate, snow angels, a pair of winter mitts.
