Toronto's City Hall press corp eagerly awaited the release of the verdict in the Rob Ford appeal on Friday morning.
The mayor's legal team received the verdict at 9:30 a.m., reporters and the rest of the public had to wait for another hour to read the decision. That hour passed very slowly for Toronto's political watchers.
Reporters, pundits and interested tweeters filled the #TOPoli hashtag with jokes, countdowns and predictions while they waited for the verdict.

In the end, the verdict wasn't leaked and was released at 10:30 a.m. The court granted Ford his appeal and he will stay on as mayor.
Of course the verdict inspired another round of Twitter reactions from the always chatty Toronto Twitter corps.
Best tweet so far goes to Paul Wells of Maclean's: "And somewhere men are laughing, and somewhere children shout/ But there is no joy in Cabbagetown, Rob Ford is not kicked out."
