Missing Surrey man found dead

Searchers have found the remains of a 20-year-old Surrey, B.C., man who had been missing since New Year's Day.

Members of a team of family and friends of Kevin Fry found his body in a wooded area of Fraser Heights near 110th Avenue and 154th Street Saturday afternoon.

No cause has been determined for his death, but RCMP say they do not suspect foul play.

This is the second time a member of the Fry family went missing. Fry's father, Glen Fry, went missing in February 2000 and hasn't been seen since.

Fry’s mother, Tracey Fry, said before the body was found that Kevin had never been in trouble, has no mental health or addiction issues, and would never leave his family wondering where he had gone.

More than 50 people had signed up for the search Saturday, with plans to trace the route he was believed to have taken while on the way on a skateboard to his employer's home to pick up a paycheque. He never arrived.

Another search had been organized for Sunday in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.
