Whistler Blackcomb snow school launches elite ski-with-Olympian program

VANCOUVER - Whistler Blackcomb has launched a "Ski With an Olympian" program, its snow school's most elite program.

For $850, guests can spend a full day with the likes of Rob Boyd, downhill competitor in the 1988 and '94 Winter Olympics, or Julia Murray, ski cross athlete in the 2010 Games.

Skiers and snowboarders can "hear stories, get tips and spend time on the mountain with an Olympic athlete as their own personal guide," the resort said in a release.

The program includes 13 ski and snowboard athletes, most from B.C.'s lower mainland, among them Crispin Lipscomb, halfpipe snowboarder; Mike Michalchuk, freestyle snowboarder; Tara Teigen, snowboard freestyle; Anastasia Skryabina, alpine skiing; and Tami Bradley, moguls.
