Police charge Whitby man in GO train assault

Toronto police have arrested a man in connection with a sexual assault on the GO train.

The incident occurred on Feb. 6 on the Lakeshore East GO transit line when a man sat next to a 15-year-old girl and appeared to be taking pictures of her with his cell phone.

A 27-year-old man from Whitby was arrested on Wednesday and appeared in court Thursday.

The man is charged with:

- Sexual assault

- Voyeurism with a sexual purpose

- Indecent acts

- Criminal harassment

- Obtaining transportation by fraud

Police believe there may be more victims and are urging them to come forward. Anyone with any information is asked to contact police at 416-808-7474.
