Nanaimo man charged with murder of father

A Nanaimo man has been charged with the second-degree murder of his father in a Rock City Road apartment on Wednesday evening.

RCMP say Aaron Roger Harvey, 27, was arrested after police found the body of his father Roger Harvey, 69, in the apartment the two shared for several years.

“Roger Harvey sustained injuries and died in his apartment. However the exact cause of his death is yet to be determined,” said Const. Gary O’Brien in a statement released on Friday afternoon.

Police say an autopsy is scheduled for next week to determine the cause of death.
