Tsawwassen Stabbing Kills Teen

UPDATE: A 17-year-old male has been charged with second degree murder and attempted murder, said police.

A pair of stabbings in Tsawwassen left one teenage girl dead and another in critical condition, according to Delta Police.

Shortly after 10 p.m. on Friday, police and paramedics responded to a report of an attack on the Tsawwassen First Nation reserve.

Two teenage girls were found laying on the ground suffering from stab wounds, said police in a news release. They were both treated by paramedics on scene and rushed to hospital.

A 15-year-old girl was later pronounced dead and a 16-year-old girl remains in critical condition.

Police believe the girls knew their attacker. The suspect is said to be the deceased girl's older brother, reports The Province.

The names of the victims or suspect have not been released.
