Toronto man, 18, wanted in teen boy's shooting

Toronto police are searching for an 18-year-old male in connection with Sunday's shooting of a 17-year-old boy in the abdomen.

Jevaun Anthony Beharie, 18, of Toronto is wanted for attempted murder while using a firearm and discharging a firearm and endangering a life, police said Monday.

On Sunday, a man approached the 17-year-old victim near 220 Woolner Ave., near Jane Street and St. Clair Avenue. As the boy tried to flee, the man chased him on foot and fired several shots, before leaving the scene in a vehicle, police said.

The boy was wounded, but managed to get to a house for help. He was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries and is expected to recover.

Toronto Police said Beharie is considered armed and dangerous. Investigators are asking for the public's help in locating the 18-year-old, but are warning people not to approach him immediately.

Anyone who locates Beharie is asked to call 911 immediately, or contact police with any information.
