Worker, boy treated for shock after truck backs into Montreal daycare

A daycare worker and a boy were taken to Santa Cabrini Hospital for shock this afternoon after a small truck reversed into a classroom in Rivière-des-Prairies, in Montreal's east end.

Montreal police say the incident took place just before noon today.

Const. Yannick Ouimet said the truck was backing up and smashed a window at the Ponceau daycare, located in a strip mall on Alexis-Carrel Avenue.

"One little boy and a teacher were treated [for shock] as they were really scared," Ouimet said.

He said the only damage to the daycare was the broken window.

Daycare owner Rodney Ruben said it’s a miracle no one was seriously hurt.
