Pedestrian stuck, trapped under vehicle in Toronto

Toronto police are investigating after a collision left a pedestrian trapped under a vehicle in the city's east end on Monday evening.

A Toronto EMS spokesperson told CBC News that the collision occurred at about 8:40 p.m.

Officers from the traffic services unit are now investigating.

A traffic services officer told CBC News that the collision occurred on Eglinton Avenue East, just west of Midland Avenue.

The victim, a woman in her 30s, was crossing the street when she was struck and pinned.

She was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police have closed the westbound lanes of Eglinton Avenue from Midland Avenue to Kennedy Road.

The TTC tweeted that its 34 Eglinton East buses were diverting via Brimley Road and Kennedy Roads because of the collision.
