Greyhound Bus Skids Off Highway Near Prince George

A Greyhound bus carrying 18 passengers skidded off a highway between Prince George and McBride late Saturday night.

Police say the bus was travelling eastbound on Highway 16 near Dome Creek around 11:45 p.m. when the driver lost control. The bus skidded off the road and rolled onto its side down an embankment.

Three passengers suffered minor injuries. Two people were taken to the McBride Hospital for medical attention, according to RCMP.

With the assistance of the Yellowhead Highway Road and Bridge work crew, the remaining passengers were taken to the Slim Creek Highway Work Yard while they waited for a second Greyhound bus to continue their journey.

RCMP say it was snowing at the time of the accident and weather conditions may have played a factor in the crash.

An investigation is ongoing, including a mechanical inspection of the Greyhound bus.
