Young patients moved back to units after fire at Winnipeg Children's Hospital

WINNIPEG - All of the young patients who were displaced due to smoke at the Winnipeg Children’s Hospital have been moved back to their units.

A total of 102 youngsters were relocated to other parts of the Health Sciences Centre late Tuesday when a fire broke out in part of the hospital that is under construction.

Some of the children were in the neonatal and pediatric intensive care units, but no one was hurt.

A news release from the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority says the kids were returned after housekeeping staff cleaned the areas.

One firefighter suffered minor injuries battling the blaze.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
