Factory Owner Missing After Fire Destroys Business

The owner of a factory is missing after a fire destroyed his company in Quebec's Eastern Townships on Wednesday.

Flames broke out around noon at Portes Cookshire, a company that makes cabinet doors in the town of Cookshire-Eaton.

Within minutes of firefighters' arrival, the flames spread out of control.

Éric Cloutier, head of the Cookshire fire department, said about 30 firefighters were on the scene.

Authorities say the company's owner, Marc Duquette, is unaccounted for and reports suggest he could have been inside the building when the fire started.
